Had a look at the thread to get on the pace. Just tested mine and it works. About the gear used in this test: Macbook Pro 17' late 2011, OS 10.8.2 using the Thunderbolt port.

The logs are located on the user’s desktop in a Media Shuttle zip file. File naming is similar to mediashuttle_logs_2014.zip. If you are debugging a transfer, you may need to locate the Media Shuttle Transfer logs.
Black Magic Intensity Extreme using BM Media Express V3.2. Apple Thunderbolt cable. Panasonic HDC-SDT750 set to 1920 x 1080i50. HDMI cable mini to standard cable.
I've noticed that all connections should be made before opening the BM capture app or it's not recognized by BM Media Express. This applies the BM box rather than the camera.
Open the BM app and confirm from the Cascade Menu under DEVICE that there is a check mark against the model you use. Mine is Intensity Extreme with the tick indicating the device and the BM software are communicating. Now setup your Media ExpressPreferences to suit the camera and capture codec etc.
Note: If you don't see a bunch of options in the Project & Capture format fields to match your computers stuff then something is amiss. Also you can check the MACSystem ProfilerThunderbolt to ensure the computer is seeing the BM device. Connect the camera and HDMI cable at this point if it's not already and switch on.
I'd suggest making all connections before starting. Log and Capture in the BM software window should display whatever the camera sees. You can either live capture or capture pre-recoreded clips as desired. Hope this steers you in the right direction.
Hey there, Al - I truly appreciate the time and attention to detail in your reply, thank you! I wish I had good news; all of the steps you outlined matched up perfectly with what I am seeing on my end, except for the last step - I still don't see anything in the Media Express 'Log and Capture' window 😢 I even shut down and restarted my computer, made sure all the connections were made before starting up Media Express, etc. SO FRUSTRATING!
I'm gonna return the Intensity Shuttle and get the Intensity Extreme; hopefully the extra $60 will get me a model that will work. If that doesn't work, I guess I'm buying a MiniDV camcorder with a FireWire-compliant output. Apple Footer. Sep 21, 2012 by , We released our new product in late July and since then we’ve been hard at work adding some great new features. Because Media Shuttle administration and UI is delivered in the cloud, these features are available immediately to every user – no upgrades required!
Authenticated Portals First in the list of new features is something called “Authenticated Portals”. For certain types of content, it will be desirable to secure access to the content with more than just a user’s email address on a white list of allowed senders or receivers. Using this new functionality, administrators can now configure their file transfer portal to require senders and receivers to login with a username and password. Like the rest of the Media Shuttle product, configuring and using this functionality is incredibly easy. Drag and Drop Files Next up, we’ve added drag and drop for content selection. Sending content is now as simple as dragging files into the upload screen and picking the recipient. Look for this on the Mac soon.
Simplifying the Send Always sending content from the same email address? Tired of typing it in each time you use Shuttle? We’ve made this a bit easier too. Adding a ‘from’ address to the portal URL and then bookmarking the page will save users from having to type their address every time. It’s as easy as just [email protected] to the portal URL you are currently using (ie. Managing Multiple Portals For administrators, we’ve made it more convenient to quickly switch between multiple portals. Just look for the “Manage Portal” menu and use the drop down list to find the portal you need.
